The Digital First project on our Exec Ed website’s purpose is to update everywhere that’s referring to Physical certificates to now be Digital certificates.

Step-by-step Instructions:

PRESENTATIONS CMS

  1. Connect to the VPN.
  2. Open & Login to https://www.getsmarter.com/presentations/wp-admin/
  3. Within your Jira ticket, open the “Updated Launch Pack” Google Doc.
    1. Note: this is different from the “Updated master launch pack” document.
  4. Within the Presentations CMS, look at the sidebar and click on “Info Packs”.
  5. Search for your program’s acronym (you can find this in the jira ticket or copy doc within the ticket) and click it once you find it.
  6. Scroll down within the Presentations CMS to the “Info Pack fields” section.
  7. Click “Modules”
  8. Within the Updated Launch Pack Google Doc, use the sidebar to anchor you down to the section titled “WHAT YOU’LL LEARN”.
  9. Paste in the new text within the “What You’ll Learn” section of the Google Doc to the “Orientation Copy section”. Note: the edits are contained in the first paragraph between “ORIENTATION MODULE” and “MODULE 1”. Any text below Module 1 is irrelevant to update.
    1. Note: you may have italicized text to paste in this section, make sure to italicize it within the CMS.
    2. Note: you may have URLs to paste in this section, make sure to use the CMS to properly hyperlink the text.
  10. Save your changes.
  11. Scroll back up a bit within the CMS, and where you previously clicked “Modules”, now click “Certificate”
  12. Within the Updated Launch Pack Google Doc, use the sidebar to anchor you down to the section titled “ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE”.
  13. Copy the text from that section within the Google Doc into the Copy part of the CMS.
    1. Note: you may have italicized text to paste in this section, make sure to italicize it within the CMS.
    2. Note: you may have URLs to paste in this section, make sure to use the CMS to properly hyperlink the text.
  14. Scroll down a tiny bit underneath this section within the CMS, and notice the Background Image field.
  15. Within your ticket, download the image for “Certificate Image”.
  16. Add this new image as the new background image.
  17. Save your changes by clicking “Update”.
  18. View your changes live & grab the URL to put in a comment within the ticket for review.

PLP Edits within Presentations CMS

Note: PLPs are referred to as Tailored Pages. You may hear both terms!

  1. Connect to the VPN.
  2. Open & Login to https://www.getsmarter.com/presentations/wp-admin/.
  3. Within the Sidebar, click “Landing Pages”.
  4. Search for your program’s acronym (you can find this in the jira ticket or copy doc within the ticket) and click it once you find it.
  5. Within the Updated Launch Pack Google Doc, use the sidebar to anchor you down to the section titled “LANDING PAGE (PROS)”.
  6. Scroll down within the Presentations CMS to the “Landing Page fields” section.
  7. Click “Benefits”
  8. Paste the updated text from your Google Doc into the Benefits section.
  9. Click Update.
  10. View your changes live by clicking “View Landing Page” & grab the URL to put in a comment within the ticket for review.

TITAN CMS

  1. Connect to the VPN.
  2. Open & Login to https://www.getsmarter.com/cms/sites/1/pages 
  3. Within the Titan CMS, you’ll see a sidebar. Click Pages if it’s not already taken you to that page by default.
  4. You’ll see a sitemap on the page. Look at the ~3rd row down where it says “Short Courses” and minimize the little – sign underneath the word “Short Courses”.
  5. A search box should appear right next to “Short Courses”.
  6. At the top of your “Updated Launch Pack” Google Doc, the text typically in Pink at the top is the name of the course.
    1. Example: MACHINE LEARNING: PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS
  7. Paste that name of the course into that search bar within the Titan CMS.
  8. Your page should appear with a + sign underneath it. Click the + sign to expand the pages within that section of the site.
  9. Look for “Certificate” in the dropdown that appears. Click “Certificate”.
  10. Once you’ve opened the “Certificate” page in your editor, scroll down to the “Blurb” and “Disclaimer” section.
  11. In your “Updated Launch Pack” Google Doc, use the sidebar to scroll to a section titled “COURSE PAGE CONTENT”. 
  12. You may need to scroll around in this section, but you’re looking for a section titled “About the certificate”
  13. Add the un-italicized copy to the Blurb section within the Titan CMS.
    1. Note: you may have URLs to paste in this section, make sure to use the CMS to properly hyperlink the text.
  14. Add the italicized copy to the Disclaimer section within the Titan CMS.
  15. Save your changes by clicking “Update Page”.
  16. Go back to sitemap (the original “Pages” page) and go through the process of searching for your page again. Once you see it, open the URL and change the part of the URL that says /short-courses/ to be /products/.
  17. View your changes live & grab the URL to put in a comment within the ticket for review.
